Rome welcomes you for a photo exhibition. William Klein 1956 had recently published his famous book Life Is Good & Good for You in New York. This man had been Invited by Federico Fellini he went to Rome to assist him in the direction of the film Nights of Cabiria (1957). Taking advantages of a delay in the shooting starting, Klein walked around Rome, knowing other artists as Pier Paolo Pasolini and Alberto Moravia. In 1959 Klein published Rome, together with a considerable body of didactic, quotes by Stendhal, Michelet, Mark Twain, Henry James and many others. The book was republished in 2009 by Aperture in collaboration with Contrasto, to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the liberation of Rome.
Today in the year 2010 there is a great exhibition at the Trajan Markets which offers 60 large images, which trace four years, from 1956 to 1960, in which the American director William Klein fell in love with Rome, its women.
